Tooth fairy and PRESCHOOL!!!

I always thought that the tooth fairy would be coming to our house in another year or so.  Both girls were really late getting teeth, and if they are anything like their mother, it will be a while before they lose them.  (I lost my first tooth around 7.)  Well....Abby had other ideas.   =(

Last weekend after swim lessons she took a BIG fall and landed right on her mouth.  Busted her upper lip really bad and broke off a part of her tooth.  After lots of tears, blood, and a trip to the urgent care, we learned she would not need stitches.  Whew!!!  It ended up healing AMAZINGLY well and if you were to look at her today you would NEVER know how awful it looked day off.  (I will be kind and not show you those pictures.)   Her tooth however did need tending too.  (Thank goodness Eric's mom works for and is friends with a dentist!)  But before that happened, Ella told Abby that when a part of your tooth is gone, then the tooth fairy comes!  So she was pretty excited about that.  Which meant that the tooth fairy was VERY busy that night!  At least with a lose tooth, she has some days notice and time to prepare.  Ha! Well after finding some felt and stuffing, two "tooth pillows" were made (one for each).  The girls woke up in the morning to find them under their pillows.  Ella's was for being a good big sister and helping Abby (and to have for when SHE loses a tooth someday)  =) , and Abby's had 50 cents in it.  Half the tooth = half the money!  Ha! Both were VERY excited!

Abby got her tooth all fixed on Sunday, and I don't have that "after" picture on the computer (it is on my phone.)  She was a CHAMP (does better than her mom!) and as you can see from her preschool pictures, you would never know!!!  =)

So, ON TO PRESCHOOL!

Tuesday Abby started preschool!!!   When did THAT happen?!   =)   Well actually, she AND I started!  I am not sure if I have mentioned, but I am very lucky and excited to be teaching again.  I am teaching preschool on T and TH morning and afternoon.  I teach the 3s classes and Abby is in my class!  =)

We started off the morning with our traditional back to school ABC pancakes:

After I took Ella to school, I went to the preschool (I have to be there early) and Eric went in late to work so he could take her to school the first day (which I thought was very cute).

She LOVES preschool and is so excited to be going now!  It has been lots of fun for both of us.  =)  She enjoys sitting with Ella at the kitchen table and having BOTH of them do homework too:

I look at that picture and it makes me a little teary.  I remember when we bought that kitchen table and chairs about 4 years ago.  Ella was little (not even two) and I was pregnant with Abby.  When it was set up in the kitchen, I remember looking at it and telling Eric that someday our kids would be sitting there doing homework.  And now they are!  =)  They are both growing up so quickly!!

So we are all doing well!  The girls are LOVING school and I am getting into a routine with teaching as well.  I have two wonderful classes of 3 year olds and am really enjoying it.   =)

Sometimes the best moments, are the simple ones spent together...

After another busy week, it was nice to have a weekend enjoying the simple things together.   I love when we can spend time together and just enjoy all that life has to offer.

For example, who would have thought that doing dishes could be so much fun?

Then last night we had a "family movie night".  We had recorded the new Phineas and Ferb movie the other night, and had a fun time watching it together.  The girls turned out all the lights (in order to make it more "movie theater" like) and helped set up blankets and pillows.   After baths and PJs they were all set!  I popped popcorn because they really WANT to like it....but after tasting it, they decided they do not like it (more for me then!).  So after getting some bowls with "snackies" we were ready for the movie:

The four of us watched the movie, and I will say that it was a fun one for adults too.   The girls had a fun time, and I enjoyed some good snuggle time with them when there was a scary part and they needed me.  (I have to say, I LOVE those mommy cuddle moments and selfishly was hoping there might be another "scary" moment.)

It is moments like these that always make me smile.   My mind has been on my family back home a lot and filled with school things coming up, so it is nice to take a break from it all and just enjoy my family and these simple best moments.
