Well this week we have been busy with lots of fun preschool activities. I can't believe that in just a matter of weeks, Ella's preschool experience will be all over and we will be gearing up for KINDERGARTEN! (When did my baby grow up?!?!)
Wednesday night was the school's "art show" which is basically like an open house to show parents what the kids have been up to all year. Ella was able to show off her classroom to us, her journal of letters and words, some word and number games, the butterflies that have been in the classroom (started as caterpillars and the kids watched them form into butterflies - very cool!!), some art that she has done, and a portfolio of work samples from the whole year (which was cool to see where she started and where she is now). Ella was so excited about it and had a wonderful time showing us everything! Such a fun moment for her!

Then Friday we had a field trip to the farm! I laugh though because the farm is LITERALLY right down the main road from us (less than 5 minutes drive) and in the 9 years we have lived here, we have never been. Crazy, right? I always forgot that it was right there! Of course now after this fun morning, we will for sure be back!
It is a great farm that has a BUNCH of different animals! Everything from a pig and donkeys, to a camel and a zonkey. Yes....you read that right. A zonkey! A cross between a zebra and a donkey. Kids have a chance to get right up to them and feed them, and can also go into a petting zoo area of goats. It was wonderful!! Both girls had such fun, and I was surprised that Ella jumped right in there wanting to feed all the animals! She is really becoming my animal lover these days.

The BIGGEST pig I have EVER seen!! |
 |
Ella loved to wave to all the animals. |

One of the tallest cows I have ever seen! |

The famous zonkey everybody!! |

This camel was pretty big too, and would put his face right up to yours. No fear in this big guy! |

The girls feeding the zonkey. Abby only wanted to help, but would only hold Ella's elbow. That is as close as she wanted to get. =) |

Zonkey again. |
After seeing and feeding all the animals, the kids all got to ride around the farm in a train and then play in the bounce house. What could be better?!
It was a really fun morning and one of the best field trips I thought! You can bet that one of these days we will be back.
I've been wanting to check out Marley Farm. Glad to hear that it's actually a nice farm! I've been thinking of having a birthday party there for Chloe but just haven't done it...next year, I guess! I love how Abby was holding Ella's elbow...so darn cute!
ReplyDeleteWhen we checked the school, we were checking out the art show that was up, the funny things they write.
